Sorth (Lizardmen stronghold)
When the Old Empire first came to be, the humans tried to cleanse other races from what they considered to be their lands. The Lizardmen, who had settlements all along the Listern River were driven back until the only territory they had left was Blackmarsh. They fought so fiercely for this land, even though their weapons and culture was primitive compared to the humans’ that they could not be beaten. There are numerous settlements throughout Blackmarsh, but Sorth is the largest. It is only about as large as a medium-sized town, but the lizardmen consider it their city. It is built around a sacred shrine where their shamans commune with the Oracle of Earth.
